Cross Country Team Heads to Maine for Regionals

Ryan Horn with a winning smile On the heels a of successful championship season competing in the Brooklyn/Queens Diocesan Cross Country races, the Holy Spirit/St Anne’s team headed out to Sunken Meadow State park this past Sunday, November 8 to compete in the Long Island Track and Field Regional Cross Country qualifiers. All ten members that competed qualified to run in the Regional Championships which will take place in Augusta, Maine on November 22. The team was led by Jenn and Stephanie Gerland’s one-two finish in the girls midget division. Also placing high were Laurel Fisher, Elisa Pitella and Sami Larose. Ryan Horn continued his winning ways with a first place finish in the boys bantam division. He was followed with strong finishes by Peyton Fletcher and Jimmy Searson (who ran on a badly sprained big toe) along with Timm Josephs and Robert McCarthy in the boys midget and youth divisions respectively.
