On Wednesday, October 7, the Garden City High School Marching Band students traveled to Broadway to see the musical West Side Story. The students experienced the wonderful music written by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim which is a part of their marching band repertoire for this year. More ... The fall season was a big success for the Blazing Comets who played awesome soccer on a bigger field and with added positions. Everyone received a well deserved trophy and we are looking forward to the Spring Season. More ... This year’s 8th Graders impressed parents, coaches and friends with a perfect season. More ... On Saturday, November 7, the boys U-10 Maverick soccer team defeated the Albertson Fire by a final sore of 3-0. Goals were scored by Ian Gallagher and Kevin McNiff. The Mavericks have been stepping up their game and playing some first rate soccer with offensive success shown by Vincent Como, Steven Santel and J.P. Trabulst. More ... The Defending Champions GC Defectors, (formerly known as the GC Pub Sopranos) proved too strong for Leo’s in the over 35 softball championship. What figured to be an exciting game was anything but. Leo’s appeared to be old and slow and was no match for the younger more athletic defector squad. More ... This fall, the Garden City Wings Varsity ice hockey team will begin their 36th season in the Nassau High School Hockey League. The Wings return twelve players from last year’s team while adding eight additional players including six freshmen. More ... The Girls Varsity Swim and Dive Team traveled to the Nassau County Aquatics Center on November 4th, 6th and 7th to defend their 11th County title. The Garden City Recreation Department will run a Preschool Arts & Crafts program in Cluett Hall for children who are 3 1/2 to 5 years of age. This program is open to Garden City residents only.
