It’s that time of year again!! The St. Joseph School P.T.A. is launching its Christmas Wreath Sale. Our gifted chairperson, Dorothy Horan, has once again made her original designs fit to grace any front or back door. In addition to our decorated wreaths, we will be selling fresh garland and plain, boxwood wreaths. More ... More ... In October, we went on our annual trip to Hicks Nursery for a hayride to see “Otto the Ghost.” We had a wonderful time together. We also had Janice Buckner, a well-known children’s songwriter and performer, visit our school on Halloween. Ms. Buckner was terrific. Not only did our children participate in her performance but so did their parents! More ... Stewart and Stratford school’s 2nd and 3rd graders were treated to Broadway veteran, Patrick Garners’ portrayal of Thomas Edison on October 15 at Stewart school. The program is a hands-on motivational exploration of the life and the many inventions of this extraordinary inventor. More ... The Hofstra University Symphonic Band invited twenty-one Garden City Middle School students to participate in the 2009 Middle School Honors Band Festival. The festival included students from our district as well as 54 other districts from Nassau County and the surrounding New York area. More ... October kicked off a busy social season for parents and staff at Garden City Nursery School. First, on Friday, October 2nd, Garden City Nursery School was completely transformed for the annual Pot Luck Dinner. The hospitality committee, headed up by Jennifer Keller and Brooke Weber, organized a harvest-themed night and guests contributed delicious dishes. More ...
