Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Cooney Mr.& Mrs. Rod Cooney of Garden City are pleased to announce the marriage of their son Kevin, to Sarah Tan, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Vela Tan of Sabah, Malaysia.

The couple was married on July 11th by Pastor Gary Scott who performed the ceremony at New Hyde Park Baptist Church. A reception followed at Garden City Country Club, and again on September 5th in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, where 650 guests celebrated the couple’s marriage in traditional style.

Kevin is a 2000 graduate of Garden City High School and a 2004 graduate of Albany University, with a bachelor’s degree in Business. He is presently Account Manager for G.C. Building Products in Farmingdale, NY.

Sarah is a 2009 graduate of Dekin University, Melbourne, Australia, with a degree in international studies. Sarah plans to pursue her master’s degree in education this spring.

The happy couple resides in Mineola.
