HOLA Donates “Boxes of Love”
Every year the Race Track Chaplaincy of America (RTCA) runs a Thanksgiving food drive called “Boxes of Love”. This year HOLA of Garden City is collecting food donations to help serve the families that work at the Belmont Race Track. Since RTCA serves a community of 95% Hispanic background, the groceries will be a little different than the usual foods other organizations give. Items requested to complete these dinner boxes are: rice (small bag), tortillas (corn or flour), canned beans (black, red or pink), canned corn, cooking oil (small bottle), juice or soft drinks, potatoes, Entenmann’s boxed desserts or cake mix, and turkeys (less than 20 lbs).
Food donations or grocery store gift cards will be collected at 36 Greenridge Avenue, Garden City, and should be delivered by Thursday, November 19th. If you would like to contact HOLA for more information, please e-mail us at holagardencity@yahoo.com. Your support of this program will be greatly appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
