Bettina Hughes The Varsity Swim and Dive team competed in the Division A Championships on Monday, October 26th. the girls had some pretty impressive swims, but once again the depth of the team was what won the meet. With only two first place finishes (Kelly McGrath in the (200 Individual Medley) and Jenna DeAngelo in the 100 Breaststroke), the girls amassed a 182 point lead over their closest competitor, Jericho. There are 9 teams in Division A. Sarah Schlichte swam her second New York State Qualifying time, this time in the 200 freestyle. Jenna DeAngelo (100 breaststroke), Marie Clarkson (100 backstroke) and Kelly McGrath (200 Individual Melay) are very close to New York State Qualifying times in their respective events. Coach Anne is hoping that each of these girls will reach those times at the County Championships on November 6th and 7th. The divers did a great job, Bettina with a 2nd place finish and Erin with a 7th place finish. They will be competing in Counties on November 4th.
