Junior Girls are ready to run! The Holy Spirit/St. Anne’s Cross Country Team scored big at the Brooklyn Queens cross country championships held this past Sunday, November 1. The team competed in memory of Jim Flynn who recently passed away. Jim was one of Long Island’s great runners and a former St. Anne’s student. Led by individual winners Jennifer Gerland, Jimmy Searson and Ryan Horn, the team was able to score two first place team championships; two second places, as well as a third and a fifth place team championship. The Junior Girls scored a perfect sweep in their division, taking the first five places in their respective race. The team scored in all six divisions in which they entered and had their best year ever! Coaches Ed Woods and Bob Schuler are very proud to have been able to put the best team, “pound for pound” on the trails of Alley Pond Park.
