Pre-k students find the magically grown pumpkins
Pre-k students find the magically grown pumpkins St Anne’s students celebrated Halloween to its fullest last week. The 3rd grade had their Halloween and the teachers requested healthy fruits and vegetables for the snack instead of cookies or cupcakes.

Mrs. Lanning’s class had pumpkin carved oranges filled with grapes & strawberries. The kids loved them and learned that healthy treats can be just as much fun.

Mrs. Preller’s PreK class planted magic pumpkin seeds last week on the Convent lawn. At the end of their school day they went to check on their seeds and were thrilled to find that the magic seeds grew into pumpkins that they could “pick”. This was just the beginning of their fall fun. They also took a tallied vote on the face of their class pumpkin. 2 crescent eyes, a square nose and a smiley mouth won. Each student got a chance to scoop out the pumpkin and carve the face (with safety tools). They had a great time working together as a team! In November they will bake the pumpkin seeds and sample them for snack. The culmination of their October activities was a Halloween party. They all came dressed in wonderful costumes. They sang spooky songs, used their imaginations in creating a witches brew and had special homemade snacks!

Yumm!
Yumm! Fourth and fifth grade students enjoyed a rocking Halloween costume party. They danced, played games and had lots of fun. The sixth, seventh and eighth graders enjoyed a Halloween dance too!
