The big question around town last week was: Was that Indian Summer or not? Yes, it got very warm but the criteria for Indian Summer is that you must first have a hard frost before you get the warm weather and that can last for a day or a week. Well, we have not had the hard frost (of course they did somewhere in New York State but that doesn’t count) so I claim no Indian Summer as yet. We can only wait and hope. The weather has been so very different this whole year one wonders what we are in for.

Try it.
Carol Rudy has arranged for the members of the G.C, Branch of AAUW to tour the Old Nassau County Court House. Historian Ed Smits will be the guide and this will take place on Friday, November 13th at 10 a.m. They will meet at the front entrance and parking will be on the South side of the building at 15th St. Following the tour, there will be a luncheon at the Nassau County Bar Association restaurant adjacent to the Court House. Give Carol a call if you plan to attend. What a great idea and it is a truly lovely building. Good for you, Carol.
In all the rush coming up with the holidays, don’t forget to send a card to a friend or neighbor who is basically a shut-in as it goes a long way to cheering them up. Better still, take a few minutes to stop by and say hello and maybe you can pick something up for them. It’s a good way to keep the Thanks in Thanksgiving.
See you next week.
