Institute “Clowns Around” & Raises Funds
Faculty members and staff at the Sanford-Brown Institute in Garden City dressed up as clowns and raised $500 for The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.
In the spirit of Halloween, staff members, faculty and students at the Sanford-Brown Institute in Garden City dressed up in clown costumes, complete with face paint and accessories, and raised over $500 for The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.
“This was an event that we put together rather quickly and were quite pleased with the response from students and employees,” said Sanford-Brown President, James J. Swift. “I look forward to many more successful events as we continue to build our relationship with The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.”
Sanford-Brown Institute, an Allied Health Postsecondary school located in Garden City, currently offers 5 programs: Medical Assisting, Medical Billing and Coding, Pharmacy Technician, Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound and Cardiovascular Technology. It has a current population of 900 students and 65 employees.
The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a ‘home-away-from home’ for families who are caring for seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment in area hospitals. Located on the campus of Schneider Children’s Hospital, the House accommodates families in a warm and supportive environment. Since opening in 1986, approximately 13,000 families from the United States and more than 80 countries around the world have been served. Many of the families are from Queens, Suffolk and Nassau Counties, as well as the surrounding metropolitan area.
