In their last regular season home game the Garden City Trojans varsity field hockey team defeated the Manhasset Indians 5-1. The Indians fought hard to keep the game close and went into the half trailing 2-1. The second half of the game began much like the first until the Trojans found their rhythm and scored three more goals and went on to win the game. Garden City’s Kerry Hosford had a hat trick, Eleni Andromidas scored twice, Mariah Pewarski had three assists, and Katie Harrington had an assist in the win. Trojans goalkeeper Kaitlyn Williams made four saves and allowed one goal. Manhasset’s Kristen Leung scored off an assist from Caitlin Samela. Indians’ goalkeeper Meghan Cox made 11 saves. After the game, this year’s graduating seniors were presented with flowers and gifts from their underclassmen teammates.
