The annual Saint Anne’s “Sponsor a Family” program is truly a community effort to provide families in need with Thanksgiving meals. Last year, local families, groups of neighbors, school classes, and businesses, sponsored over 100 families at the outreach centers in Uniondale and Wyandanch. In addition, with your monetary donations, we were able to buy and bag food for Thanksgiving dinners for another 150 needy families at the Gerald & Louise Kaiser Outreach Center in Uniondale.

Local outreach centers are reporting a substantial increase in the number of families that are struggling during this economic downturn. We hope that the support the community provided in the past will continue this year.

To sponsor a family, you supply the groceries, including a frozen turkey, for a family’s Thanksgiving meal. (no cooking is required). To Sponsor a Family at the Gerald Ryan Outreach Center in Wyandanch call:

The collection of sponsored family meals will take place in Saint Anne’s Church parking lot on Saturday and Sunday Nov 21 & Nov 22.

If you are unable to do the shopping or want to help provide bulk food for over 200 other families, you can make a monetary donation, Please send a check payable to Saint Anne’s Church with a notation “Thanksgiving Sponsor a Family” to Saint Anne’s Church, 35 Dartmouth Street, Garden City, NY 11530.
