REGISTRATION FOR PRESCHOOL ARTS AND CRAFTS HAS BEGUN
The Garden City Recreation Department will run a Preschool Arts & Crafts program in Cluett Hall for children who are 3 1/2 to 5 years of age. This program is open to Garden City residents only. Each week your child will make a project to take home following the seasons, holidays, or other interesting topics. Our classes run for six weeks and are 45 minutes long. We will hold classes on the following days and times:
Tuesday at noon begins November 10
Thursday at 12:15 pm begins November 5
The cost of this six week program will be $30. To register, please visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Avenue.
WOMEN’S LEARN AND PLAY PADDLE PROGRAM ANNOUNCED
The Recreation Department will start their women’s learn and play paddle tennis program on Wednesday evenings beginning November 2nd. This program is for women who want to learn how to play platform tennis in an intramural setting. Sue Tarzian and Carrie Strum will run this program for five evenings during the following times:
Wednesdays 7- 8:30 p.m.
Wednesdays 8:30 - 10 p.m.
The cost of this program is $125. Space is limited so please register early. To register, please visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Ave. All checks should be made payable to the “Inc. Village of Garden City”.
ADULT PROGRAMS
IN THE FIELDHOUSE
The Recreation Adult Programs in the Field House begin on Tuesday, October 13th, according to the following schedule:
Mondays Mens’ Open Basketball 7:30-10 p.m.
Mens’ Over 40 Basketball 7:30-10 p.m.
Tuesdays Mens’ Over 30 Basketball 7:30 -10 p.m.
Wednesdays Mens’ Open Basketball 7:30-10 p.m.
Mens’ Over 40 Basketball 7:30-10 p.m.
Thursdays Adult Volleyball 7:30 - 10 p.m.
Adult Soccer 8:30 - 10 p.m.
These programs are open to residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City who have graduated high school. All programs listed are free of charge and strictly “pick up”.
Any resident wishing to participate must show their license each week in addition to signing in. A non resident guest may play but must be accompanied by a resident to enter.
ADULT DANCE CLASSES

The following dance classes for adults will be offered by the Recreation Department:
Adult Ballet beginning October 27 Tuesday at 9:15 am
Adult Stretch beginning October 27 Tuesday at 7:45 pm
Adult Stretch beginning October 29 Thursday at 9:15 am
Adult Jazz (this is a performance based class) beginning
October 31 Saturday at 9:00 am
Each class is one hour long and will be held in Cluett Hall. The cost of each 15 week class will be $ 120. To register for any of these classes, please visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Avenue with a check made payable to the “Inc. Village of Garden City”.
GARDEN CITY PLATFORM COURT MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FOR RESIDENTS 2009 SEASON
An application for resident membership to the Recreation Department’s Platform Courts covers the season beginning October 1, 2009 through April, 2010 This membership is open to any individual who is a resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City. It covers unlimited play under the rules and regulations set forth by the Garden City Recreation Department. It does not cover any programs or special events that the Recreation Department itself chooses to run. Said events would require an additional fee if applicable.
The fee for this unlimited membership will be $ 225. To register for membership, please visit the Recreation Administrative Offices at 108 Rockaway Ave. Checks should be made payable to the “Village of Garden City”.
ADULT YOGA CLASSES

Our fall session of Yoga with Connie McKnight will begin the week of September 14 according to the following schedule:
Mondays 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. 13 classes for $65
Wednesdays 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. 12 classes for $60
Thursdays 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. 13 classes for $65
This program is open to adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. Each class will meet in Cluett Hall .
