GCHS Students Selected As NHRP Scholars

2009-10-23 / School

Congratulations to Garden City High School seniors, Thomas Elustondo and Michelle Velez, pictured here with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert Feirsen and Board of Education President Colleen Foley, for qualifying as Scholars in the 2009-2010 National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP). Of the 200,000 students who entered this year’s program, fewer than 5,000 students have been chosen for this recognition. Students who are honored as Scholars by the NHRP must be at least one-quarter Hispanic, have achieved a minimum PSAT/NMSQT/PAA score for their region, as well as earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
