Cathedral Nursery School Visits Pumpkin Farm!
Kaitlin DeBusschere is all smiles in the pumpkin patch.
Cathedral Nursery School took their science studies on the road this month with a trip to Schmitt’s Pumpkin Farm in Melville on October 8th. All of our 4-year-old classes, along with teachers, parents, grandparents and siblings enjoyed a spectacular fall day with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60’s.
The Cathedral Family took a hayride through Schmitt’s Pumpkin patch where the group was welcomed to pick their own pumpkins to take home. The fun and learning continued with a tour of the farm’s vegetable garden and some “hands on” harvesting as the students picked their own radishes! Next the children visited the petting zoo. The day was topped off with some old-fashioned horseplay on the farm playground, which included haystack slides, a converted fire truck, and a pirate ship. What an enjoyable day!!
Chip Read, Marcello Sarro, and Eric Hartmann wait to pick their pumpkins.
