Ashley Merryman The Garden City PTA would like to invite the entire community to come out on Tuesday Oct 27th to hear current NY Times bestselling author Ashley Merryman of NurtureShock..New Thinking about Children speak at 7:30pm in the GC High School Auditorium. Ashley and her co-author Po Bronson challenge conventional wisdom on childrearing in their fascinating new book. The central premise is that many of modern society’s strategies for nurturing children are in fact backfiring - because key twists in the science have been overlooked. Their topics range from sleep, to praise, to teenage lying, to IQ testing. The book spans the childhood age range from K-12. There is sure to be something for everyone at this discussion. Beginning at 6:30pm, books will be available for sale and Ms. Merryman will be happy to autograph one for you if you like.
