In this week’s issue we feature news stories about two different forums on the upcoming school bond issue. The PTA and the Eastern Property Owners Association both met to discuss the proposed $36.5 million bond, which would be used to renovate buildings throughout the district. According to the board, the average homeowner will see a tax increase due to the bond of about $261 per year at its peak.

The last bond referendum took place in 1998, when an initial proposal of $50 million failed. A second vote on a reduced $37,856,000 bond passed.
