Ellen Murphy and Billy Cheung Bill and Janis Murphy of Garden City are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ellen, to Billy Cheung, son of Man San Cheung and the late Hon Leung Cheung. Ellen graduated from Garden City High School in 1995 and from George Washington University in 1999 with a degree in international studies. Ellen completed her Master’s Degree in strategic communications at Columbia University in 2009. Ellen is currently a senior director of communications for the YMCA of Greater New York. Billy graduated from The Collegiate School in 1995 and from Yale University in 1999 with a degree in economics. He also has an MBA from Columbia University. Billy is a vice president at Fulcrum Strategy, an investment affiliate of Oppenheimer and Co.
