Garden City Hotel Manager Honored

Nasser SammanNasser Samman Garden City Hotel General Manager Nasser Samman has been honored by Long Island Business News on September 24 in an inaugural “50 Or So Around 50” awards celebration for Long Island executives.

Long Island Business News is the region’s only publication devoted to local commerce, including news about Long Island’s 120,000 businesses, and has been the premier source of news and data on business, economic trends and the region’s robust entrepreneurial sector for more than 50 years.

Of the award, the publication’s president and publisher, John L. Kominicki, remarked that the inaugural group of 50 people around the age of 50 are honored for their business achievement, the way they give back to the region, balancing family and career, and, offering a helping hand to others in their fields.

As general manager of The Garden City Hotel, Samman has contributed to the hotel’s reputation for elegance and unparalleled service making it the leading choice on Long Island for meetings, banquets and world-class hospitality. He oversees the daily operations of guest services, human resources, housekeeping, property maintenance, accounting, and food and beverage.

In 2007, Samman was selected as one of 20 industry experts to sit on the advisory board of Seven Stars and Stripes, an arbiter of global luxury standards in travel and leisure. In 2004, the Big Apple Chapter of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International selected Samman as General Manager of the Year. In 2002, Samman received the New York State Senate Liberty Award for exceptional achievement for his work with a local relief fund to support 9/11 families. He has also served as a board director for the Long Island Hotel & Lodging Association and is a member.
