Members of the Colonel Aaron Ogden Chapter visited the historic Fire Island Lighthouse on September 17th. An interesting talk regarding the geographic history of the area, as well as the lighthouse itself, was provided by a local Park Ranger. Several chapter members made the climb to the top of the tower to enjoy the spectacular view. Others were content to investigate the interesting contents of the museum, which includes vintage photos of past lighthouse keepers and their families. The lighthouse is staffed by volunteers who welcome donations from the public to repair and improve the structure.
