One of our three 90th birthday party cakes. To celebrate 90 years of being an important part of Garden City life the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead held a birthday party at the Casino on Wednesday, October 7, 2009.

Period Costumes were displayed along with studio artwork and many members wore clothing from past eras representatives from each department spoke of it’s history reminiscing about past programs, trips, speakers, community service and painting and crafts classes. There was a sing-a-long with songs from the past to the present and three birthday cakes celebrated this momentous occasion. We were pleased and honored that several officials from the Village and the Town of Hempstead joined us for the celebration and presented the club with special memorial tributes.
