William J. Manning III , of Garden City, son of Mr. William J. Manning Jr. and Mrs. Cynthia H. Manning, is among the 750 students who entered Colgate University with the Class of 2013 in late August. The class, selected from an applicant pool of 7,800 students, is one of the most academically gifted and diverse to enroll at Colgate.

Manning is a graduate of the Westminster School.
