Thunder 8 Year Olds Travel To Island Trees
Ready to stop the run!
This past Sunday the Moscatiello Thunder 8s traveled west to take on a big and tough team from Island Trees. The Thunder wearing their away white game jerseys and white pants continued the momentum from last week’s game vs. East Rockaway. With a pounding ground game the men of Thunder dominated time of possession for the game. The ground attack was made possible by bruising offensive line play of Kevin LeBlanc, Kyle Merritts, Jacob “bulldozer” Samenuk, Holden Overbeck, Aidan “spike” Pfaff, Albert Severini and Jack Meyers. Island Trees wearing cardinal home uniforms were big, fast and strong but no match for the Thunder on this day. Early points were put on the board with crisp play execution out of the backfield by Steve Baymack, Tyler Sandoval, Brady “touchdown” Sullivan, Paul Varano and Ritchie Petrone.
Flawless execution on offense
Island Trees looked to keep up with the Thunder offensive explosion by trying sweeps, reverses and passes but to no avail. The Thunder’s outstanding defensive play was powered by Mathew “Mean Machine” Conelli, Connor Gunn, John Morris, Steven “Mosc” Moscatiello, Steven Haass, Campbell Munn, Billy Willis, Christine Holloway, Dan Carlino and Joey Atherall. The Thunder cornerbacks kept play to the inside with Nick Rosato and Jackson Bautch playing superb. Great play from the defensive line and corner backs meant our Timmy Curran and Joe Foxen had clear site to make many punishing tackles.
This week the Thunder 8’s will play home at Stewart Field against Bellmore at 1:30PM.
GO THUNDER!!!!
