Connor Gunn
Connor Gunn The U8 Sting picked up where they left off in the spring with an impressive 13-1 win against the Noth Shore Vikings. The defense was stellar with at least 6 Web Gems: Tommy Reifler made a sliding backhand stab in the hole at SS and fired a throw over to first, Gavin Pappas snared a hard hit line drive to third, Christopher Caluori gunned down a runner trying to steal second, Stephen Caluori made a running catch in the left centerfield gap, Michael Roscoe, playing 3rd base cut off a slow roller past the pitcher’s mound and rifled out the runner at 1st, and Cal Stellato made a full out dive to stab a hard hit line drive over the 2nd base bag.. The pitching was solid as Danny McCloud and Andrew Zupicich limited the offense to only 1 run on 3 walks and 3 hits... The catchers Connor Gunn, Jack Muldoon, and Joe Macchiarola managed the pitching staff and controlled the game. The offense exploded for 15 hits and 13 runs. Owen Asher had 3 hits and set the table at the top of the order. In the first inning with a runner on second and third Andrew Hammersley put the Sting on the scoreboard with a bomb to left driving in the first two runs of the game...There was no looking back... Great Start to the season. GO STING!!!
