Boys Varsity Soccer Wins Again

See this photo at Newsphoto.com After their 2-0 victory over South Side on September 21st, the Garden City boys soccer team has yet to give up a goal this season. Teddy Tomao scored in the fourth minute and Vincent Tavernese scored off an assist from Topha DiBona with 11 minutes left in the game to give the Trojans the win over the Cyclones. Goalkeeper George Spanos made four saves in the game.

Prior to the South Side game, GC took on Cold Spring Harbor on Sept. 16th. Topher DiBona opened up the scoring in the 26th minute off an assist from Ed Schwendemann to give the Trojans the 1-0 lead. The next goal came with 18:07 left in the game as Tavernese scored off an assist from Will Mignon to give Garden City the 2-0 victory. Once again, Spanos made four saves for the Trojans and preserved the shut out. Cold Spring Harbor goalkeeper Taylor Silverstein made 11 saves. The Trojans will travel to Valley Stream South on Tuesday, September 29th at 4:30pm for their next game..
