ON SEPTEMBER 21 , two shoplifters acting in concert, a 36-year-old Mastic woman and a 19-year-old Mastic woman, allegedly took $409 in items including 2 Guess sweaters, 2 Free People sweaters and 2 Pacific Heights sweaters at Lord and Taylor. The ladies were charged with the possession of burglar tools and larceny... ON SEPTEMBER 22 , Sgt. Jacobsen stopped a 23-year-old Port Washington man for alleged speeding at Rockaway Avenue/ Old Country Road. It turned out that the man was a fugitive from justice and he was arraigned before a County judge. The warrant stemmed from a fraud in NJ... ON SEPTEMBER 21 , between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., a $350 Fuji bicycle that had been chained at a pole was stolen from Field 6 W... ON SEPTEMBER 13, 7:30 a.m., someone took a $700 Apple cell phone from the Marines base at Stewart Avenue... On September 17, 12:30 p.m., a thief stole $90 razors from a pharmacy on Seventh Street and fled the store. After said thief realized he was being chased, he dropped the goods and ran. An investigation continues... DETECTIVES MADDEN and Rothermel arrested a 28-year-old Albertson man for identity theft, forgery, and for grand larceny, after he allegedly attempted to use stolen credit cards he had taken from a Garden City resident, on September 17... ON SEPTEMBER 20, PO Wehr stopped a 28-year-old Corona man for alleged speeding at 48 in a 30 mph zone, for the failure to signal a turn, unsafe lane change, and for alleged DWI (.13%) at Clinton Rd... PO OSWALD ARRESTED a motorist at Meadow Street for alleged DWI, no insurance, unsafe lane change, no license, and refusal of prescreen test, on September 19... ON SEPTEMBER 17, 8 trucks were inspected with 10 tickets issued and 4 trucks taken out of service, at Clinton Road, at a truck safety stop... SOMEONE TOOK personal papers and change from an unlocked car parked at a Meadow Street residence between September 16 and 17... A $250 iPod Nano was stolen from a car parked at Kenwood Rd. between September 14 and 15... ON SEPTEMBER 16, between 4:15 and 6 p.m., someone took a $50 handbag containing credit cards, papers, and $8 from a car parked at the GCHS field. Damage was $200 to the window... ON SEPTEMBER 15, 6 p.m., police arrested a 22-year-old Mastic woman and a 24-year-old Mastic man, after they allegedly stole a handbag from a Jeep at Adelphi University. They were charged with the criminal possession of stolen property and the man was additionally charged with the possession of heroin...
