Winthrop-University Hospital’s Advances in Cancer Care educational series will offer a free program, “Leukemia & Lymphoma: Personalized Therapies, Targeted Treatments,” on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at 7:00 PM. Co-sponsored by the Leukemia &Lymphoma Society, the program will be held at 101 Mineola Boulevard at the corner of Second Street in Mineola. It will focus on promising diagnostic and treatment advances in the management of leukemia and lymphoma.

Harry Staszewski, MD, Chief of the Division of Oncology/Hematology at Winthrop, will update attendees on advances that allow doctors to deliver care that is tailored to each individual’s disease. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.
