The ladies of the Garden Department of the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead are leading their fellow club members on a trip to Jones Beach. They will be heading to the Nature Center at Jones Beach where they will hear about the birds and animals that make their home, there. I’ll bet you thought they only had fish and birds but you will learn a lot and be entranced with the lecture and see some of the birds and animals right there. You can stroll on the boardwalk over the sand and enjoy a lovely view of the Atlantic Ocean before departing for luncheon at E. B. Elliot’s Restaurant in Freeport.

Luncheon will be served in a private room overlooking the water and you will start with a caesar salad and will have a choice of chicken wellington, sliced steak borolo, pasta with lemongarlic and shrimp, or St. Peter’s Fish broiled with an almond crust. dessert will be an ice cream roll cake with your choice of coffee or tea. A glass of wine will be included - either white or red depending on your choice of entree.

The deluxe bus will then take you back to Jones Beach for a tour of the Museum “Castles In The Sand” and then return you to Garden City.

The fee for members of the Community Club is $65 per person, guests are $70. Checks should be made payable to Community Club of Garden City & Hempstead and mailed to Mrs. Muriel Urban at 216 Kilburn Road, Garden City, N.Y. 11530. Include your phone number and choice of entree on your check.
