Bob Cangemi, owner/operator of the Garden City Shoe Shop, 178 Seventh Street for the past 40 years, and his wife Elizabeth (Betty), will be a special guests of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce at its luncheon next Wednesday, October 30, at the Garden City Hotel, Noon - 2:00 p.m. Currently, within our Garden City business district, the Garden City Shoe Shop is the retail business operating at the same address for the longest period of time by the same owner. Now, finally, the doors will close on the day of the luncheon when the Chamber will be pleased to pay tribute to Bob for his 40 years of service to the residents of Garden City and beyond.
