Congratulations to the Garden City Hot Shots for a successful start to their season.

The team trained hard throughout the summer to prepare for their opening tournament and the start of league play.

The Hot Shots came in Second Place in their division in the East Meadow Covanta soccer tournament, with a record of 4 Wins (Oyster Bay Elite 5-0, RVC Cardinals 2-1, Smithtown Kickers 2-0, and Massapequa Express 6-0) and 1 Loss (POB Rowdies 2-3). The game they lost was a thriller that came down to the wire with the Hot Shots coming up a bit short against a speedy POB Team. The Hot Shots also won their opening league game this past weekend against a strong Wantagh Seaford team (2-0). While still early in the season, the team has really taken shape both offensively and defensively. In the six games they've played so far this year, they've scored 19 goals, while giving up only 4. The girls are working extremely well together as a team and are having a blast!

The GC Hot Shots are looking forward to continuing to train hard under their coaches, Tom Nastasi, Peter Kenny and Wayne Beckmann; and team trainer Dina Cali.

Good luck and go Hot Shots!!!
