GC JV Football Opens Season

Garden City High's JV football team opened up its season last Saturday morning against the New Hyde Park Gladiators. Leading the Trojans at quarterback for the 2009 season is Sophomore Mike Comiskey. The offensive line, led by center Dan Marino, provided the protection needed for the running and passing game to amass over 400 total yards, including runs by Andrew Calabro and Ryan Norton. The defense kept the Gladiators to under 200 yards of total offense as the Trojans went on to win 37-17.
Next up, the Trojans will travel to MacArthur High School to take on the Generals on Monday afternoon at 4:15pm.
This year's JV football roster includes: Brendan Adams, Matt Eulau, Christian Capozzi, Mike Comiskey, Jack Worstell, Sean Digan, Liam Kennedy, Brian Badgett, Sean McCoyd, Andrew Calabro, Christian Morreale, Scott D'Antonio, Paul Cannizarro, Cory Fallon, Chris Harder, Matt Schmelzinger, Ryan Norton, John Mixon, Justin Guterding, Lucas Clay, Ryan Dooley, Joe Gulmi, Rob Savage, Matt Leto, Matt Haeffner, Kevin Gallant, Matt Duffy, Scott Ernenwein, Kyle Skramko, John Gentile, Matt Cortese, Andre Stone, Billy Connors, James Capanegro, Dan Marino, Mike Famiglietti, Scott Mongiardo, TJ Pallan, Matt Adelhelm, Mike Gilbert, Alex Halka, Jack O'Brien, Nick Cento, Devin Dwyer, Jaylen Mayo, PJ McGovern, Brian Defliese, Tom Keough, Pat Niebler, Brendan Orr, Ed Blatz, and John Walczyk. The team is coached by Seth Messier and assistant coaches Bob Nolan and Scott Walley.
