Boys Varsity Soccer Team Plays Calhoun

The Garden City Trojans boys varsity soccer team played the Calhoun Colts last Saturday morning at GCHS. It was a physical game that saw both Calhoun goalkeepers get injured, but not seriously. Garden City goalkeeper George Spanos made five saves and didn't allow a goal. Calhoun's Andrew LaClaustra had four saves and James Raheb had seven saves, neither giving up goals as the game ended in a 0-0 tie. The Trojans will face South Side at Hempstead Lake Park on Monday at 4:30pm
The 2009 Garden City boys varsity soccer team includes: Thomas Johnson, George Spanos, Brandon Badgett, Sean Bingham, James Mignon, George Georgiton, Kevin Quinn, Thomas Elustondo, Adam Muncan, Teddy Tomao, Teddy Spanos, Michael Fusco, John Tarzian, Ed Schwendemann, Vincent Dioguardi, Vincent Tavernese, Topher DiBona, Thomas Ferro, Christopher Skoor, Brendan McManus, John D'Antonio, and Michael D'Antonio. Carlo Mazarese returns as coach with assistant coach Paul Cutter.

In this sequence, Garden City's John Tarzian tries to stop himself from hitting into Calhoun goalie James Raheb as he makes a save, but they collide anyway, sending Raheb to the ground.
