Chamber Expands 30th FallFestival Street Fair

Two trackless trains carrying children, ages 4-1, will run up and down Seventh Street. The Garden City Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its 30th annual Fall Festival Street Fair to be held on Saturday, October 24 from - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Seventh Street. This year, for the first time, Seventh Street will be closed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.and should they wish, participants may exhibit throughout the day into evening when members of the community may wish to return too enjoy the "samplings" of Seventh Street.

During the Fair hours, there will be plenty of fun activities for the kids to include two trackless trains plus the ever-popular money cube and more. Powerhouse Entertainment, providing karaoke for some 15 years will serve as emcee for the event.

As always, there'll be plenty of great food provided by our local restaurants and eateries.

Additionally, the Fivestone Contemporary Rock Band - a hit at the Seventh Street Restaurant Fair this past July, will return for a repeat performance. Adding further to the festivities of this all-community day will be Garden City High School's Homecoming Day Parade to step off at the east end of Seventh Street at 11:30 a.m.

Member businesses and community organizations who register with the Chamber will be showcased on Seventh Street between Franklin and Hilton Avenues. They must call the Chamber in advance at 746-7724, ext.101 to secure placement of exhibit booths. Watch for upcoming news as there are still many plans in motion.
