Assemblyman Thomas McKevitt (R,C,I - East Meadow) is pleased to announce the Long Island Power Authority is sponsoring the Income-Eligible Senior Energy Assistance Program, designed to help eligible seniors save on their electric bills. "For all qualifying seniors, this is a great opportunity to help save on your bills. With the high prices homeowners must pay on bills, every little bit helps", stated the Assemblyman.

The Long Island Power Authority has created a $10 million program for all qualifying senior citizens. It is a one-time offer of a $200 bill credit for seniors that fit the following criteria: must be 62 years of age or older, must be a LIPA electric account holder and you must meet the income-eligible guidelines which are provided on their website at www.lipower.org/seniors. For more information or an application you may visit their website or call 1-800-490-0025.

"I encourage all senior constituents who are eligible, to take advantage of this one-time offer. During these tough economic times it's helpful to be able to save wherever possible. The Long Island Power Authority has long been offering discounts and a chance to save on your bills. Due to the availability of program funds, the Income-Eligible Senior Energy Assistance Program works on a first-come/first-served basis, so be sure to fill out your applications as soon as possible!"
