Voice auditions are now being held for membership in the Cathedral of the Incarnation's choirs for 2009. Membership is open to any child, regardless of religious affiliation, and the choristers come from a variety of religious traditions. The choirs are modeled on the great cathedral choirs of England and benefits of membership are considerable and include singing the finest of all eras of choral music in the splendid Cathedral of the Incarnation. The choristers regularly receive high scores in NYSSMA and are frequently chosen for such events as All County and All State events. The choirs are currently seeking choristers in the following areas: boys ages 8 to 11; boys with changed voice; girls ages 9 to 13. There is no tuition for the program and many choristers receive scholarships to attend summer courses sponsored by the Royal School of Church Music. While there are several openings for both boys and girls for the coming season, it is anticipated that the interest will be high in the choirs and suggest that parents of those children who may be interested contact Larry Tremsky, organist and choirmaster 746-2955, ext.18 or email music@gcincarnation.org You need Java Script enabled to view it...
