The Garden City Mavericks. Congratulations to the U-10 Boys travel soccer team for competing for the first time as a team in their first pre-season tournament. The team competed in five games against some tough opponents at Soccer Park in Plainview, August 28 and 29.

This newly formed travel team consists of third and fourth grade boys that came together for the first time for the Covanta Cup Tournament. Coached by Joe Clark and Assistant Coach Liberopoulos, the team competed against Farmingdale, Massapequa, Rockville Centre, and Smithtown.

All the players rotated in almost all positions and strong efforts were put in by all who played. Goalies J. P. Trabulsi, John Griffith, and Michael Liberopoulos all had great saves and kept all opponents goals to a minimum. Mid fielders and attackers Steven Spirakis, Ian Gallagher, Mark DePierro and Lucas Franco all hustled and show amazing talent in all positions. Vincent Como and Colin Crean played excellent right and left wing positions on attack. Defense was strong and determined, played by Conor Clark, Kevin McNiff and Steven Santel.

The Mavericks will begin their first season together on Saturday, September 12. Go Mavericks!
