Mr. William Arnone, outgoing Chair of the Buckley Country Day School Board of Trustees. After three years of exceptional leadership as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Buckley Country Day School, Mr. William Arnone has passed the torch to Mrs. Melissa Murphy, Buckley Board member since 2000.

Mrs. Murphy, who will be the school's 27th Chair and serve in this position for the next three years according to the Buckley bylaws, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona, was awarded a Rotary Fellowship to France where she earned a Degré Superieur d'Etudes Françaises from the Université de Dijon, and holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona. She has clearly demonstrated outstanding leadership during her tenure as Chair of the Admissions/Marketing Committee, and as a member of the Buildings and Grounds, Development, and Executive Committees, and the Committee on Trustees.

Having spent many years working in consumer marketing and advertising, Mrs. Murphy's most recent full-time position was as Executive VP, Global Account Director for the J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency. She now consults on marketing and advertising projects, and has lent her invaluable skills to the production of the Buckley website, as well as to multiple Buckley publications and marketing initiatives. Mrs. Murphy lives in Sands Point with her husband, Greg, both of whom have been tireless volunteers and supporters of the school. The Murphys have two children-Erin, a Buckley '04 and Westover, CT '08 alumna, currently a sophomore at Miami University, Ohio; and Max, Buckley Class of '13.

In a recent letter to Buckley parents, Headmaster Dr. Jean-Marc Juhel praised outgoing Chair William Arnone. He stated, "On behalf of our entire community and on a personal note as well, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bill Arnone for his three years of unwavering commitment to the realization of Buckley's vision." Successfully launching the Campaign for Leadership and adopting a visionary five-year strategic plan are among Mr. Arnone's many accomplishments as Chair. Dr. Juhel further expressed his appreciation to Mr. Arnone's wife, Caren, and daughter Allyson, Buckley '08, now a sophomore at Trinity School, for allowing the school to impose so often on their family time. Mr. and Mrs. Arnone have selflessly given both their time and support to the Buckley community.

Mr. Arnone was appointed as a Trustee in 2002. He will continue to serve on the Board of Buckley Country Day School and will chair the Committee on Trustees.
