AAUW Installation Of Officers
AAUW Luncheon Speaker: Marilyn Kaufman
The Garden City Branch of the American Association of University Women held an installation luncheon at Maxxel's Restaurant on June 1 st to install officers for the 2009-2010 year. After a tribute to the attending past presidents, the installation of the following officers was conducted by Past President, Sally Richmond: Georgene Harrison, President; Margaret Delahunt, Vice President for Program Development; Diane Wall, Vice President for Membership; Alice Cammiiso, Vice President for the Educational Foundation; Margaret Delahunt and Joan Stafford, Vice Presidents for the Legal Advocacy Fund; Regina Dowling, Corresponding Secretary; Geraldine McHugh, Recording Secretary; and Mary Ann Garrett, Treasurer.
President Georgene Harrison presented Certificate of Achievement Awards won by the Branch at the N.Y. State Convention. Amy Small, our monthly newsletter editor, received the Communications Award's highest honor, the Award of Excellence. The Public Policy Study Group under the leadership of Rose Ann Palmer, was recognized for it activities in meeting with local legislator Tom McKevitt.

Genevieve Young was awarded a special AAUW pin in recognition of her 25 years as a Branch member.
The luncheon concluded with a "tell all" program by Marilyn Kaufman on trivia about First Ladies, entitled "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the White House." The lovely luncheon and program were planned by AAUW members Justine Butz and Ursula Lashen.
