A group of local Boy Scouts and adults from the Garden City Community Church embarked on another Mission Trip during the middle of August. Last year Troop 56 went to Alabama and Mississippi to assist in the rebuilding of homes. The group decided to help in a different part of the country this year and chose the Appalachia area of Eastern Kentuckey for their annual mission work. In order to carry out this community service on a national level, the young men raised money through poinsettia and wreath sales, Popcorn sales, and car washes. the boys spent a week helping others to rebuild and repair their homes. The young men found their work to be very rewarding as they saw first hand how their efforts made a difference in the lives of others. The participants in this mission trip would like to thank the Garden City Kiwanis Foundation for sponsoring this service trip.
