Community Club Friendship Luncheon
Timothy Brown and Gloria Christi
The Friendship Luncheon, sponsored by the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead on Tuesday, September 22nd starting at 12 noon at the Cherry Valley Club, will feature Gloria Christi and Timothy Brown as the entertainment for that day.
Gloria is a Long Island girl who began her professional career at the age of four with Ray Heatherton. She received her degree from Adelphi University and appeared on the Joe Franklin Show, and sang with Liberace at Radio City Music Hall. She was asked by Mayor Giuliani to sing at the memorial service for American Airlines Flight 587 in the Rockaways.
Timothy Brown is also a native of Long Island and has been a musician/choir director since the age of thirteen. He played the organ for his own confirmation and graduation ceremonies. Tim has appeared in both regional and Broadway productions and is presently serving as a Music Director with his wife Gloria Christi at St. Anne's Parish in Garden City. Timothy earned his degree from Hofstra University.
This affair will start off the 90th season for the Community Club. Members and guests are invited to send their reservations in the amount of $49 per person to Mrs. Ruth Lacy, 110 Stratford Avenue, Garden City, N.Y. 11530. Luncheon includes a glass of wine or a mixed drink and your choice of entree will be: chicken cordon bleu, ginger snap crusted salmon or herb roasted sliced sirloin.
