Three Residents To Play 100 Holes Of Golf In One Day!
      On September 21st, John Garvey, Dan Baruch and Michael Pasqualina, residents of Garden City and, clearly avid golfers, will be joining 30 other golfers in a marathon of golf. All of these participants will start swinging the clubs at sunrise and will be playing 100 Holes of Golf at the Hamlet Golf & Country Club in Commack to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation.

Hamad ~ Ebrahimpour Nuptials
      Dr. Alyssandrea Hope Hamad and Dr. Arman Ebrahimpour were married in a private ceremony in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 19, 2009. Sandi is the daughter of Dr. Delfin Hamad, a retired surgeon and Dr. Electa Zabat-Hamad, retired pediatrician, of Garden City where they have lived for 38 years. She was the class Salutatorian of the Class 1992 of Garden City High School.

      The annual Green and White tournament was held on Tuesday, August 25th at the Cherry Valley Club. The lady eighteen-holers were split down the middle into two teams, half on the green team the other half playing for the white team. The two-woman teams were picked by the committee based on handicaps.

Mission Trip By Local Youth To Appalachia
      A group of local Boy Scouts and adults from the Garden City Community Church embarked on another Mission Trip during the middle of August. Last year Troop 56 went to Alabama and Mississippi to assist in the rebuilding of homes. The group decided to help in a different part of the country this year and chose the Appalachia area of Eastern Kentuckey for their annual mission work.

Troop 243 At Trexler Scout Reservation
      Twenty scouts and six leaders, spent a week at Trexler Scout Reservation near the Delaware Water Gap. The weather was fine, except for one day were we endured 9.5 inches of rain. Be prepared!
