DAR To Visit Lighthouse
The Colonel Aaron Ogden Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, plans to kick off its 2009-2010 season with a tour of the Fire Island Light House. The tour is to take place on Thursday, September 17th, at 2pm
Members are asked to assemble at 11 am behind Key Food to car pool. Lunch will be at each member's own expense, at Captree Cove prior to the tour. In addition to lunch, there will be approximate costs of $6 to park and $4.50 for the tour. Those planning to attend are asked to notify Leslie Dimmling at 746-2207.
The chapter will be hosting many interesting programs this coming year. Looking forward, on October 14, Caroline D'Antonio, State Chairman of the DAR Museum, will speak about the NSDAR Museum Silver Collection.
Mark your calendars now for the Chapter's Annual Philanthropic Luncheon. The luncheon will gain be held at the lovely Westbury Manor, on Friday, April 9th, 2010. Cocktail hour, which received such fabulous reviews last year, will begin at 11:30am. Be sure not to miss it! Dr. Natalie Naylor will be there to speak on the very interesting topic, " Surviving the Ordeal: Long Island Women During the Revolution." Husbands and friends of members are encouraged to join us for this exciting event. Further details regarding cost and reservations will be announced.
