National Spanish Award winners Congratulations to 8th grade world language students in Mrs. Linardos', Mrs. Porter's, and Mrs. Scarola's classes who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2009 National Spanish Examination. They competed against a total of 30,858 students across the nation. Garden City earned a total of 11 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze medals along with 12 honorable mentions. Our 11 gold medalists were honored on June 3rd at an awards reception at Jericho High School sponsored by The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
