GCAA Travel Baseball Tryout Information
*Pre-Registration Is Required*
The GCAA will be holding travel baseball tryouts for any child between 8 and 12.
Remember: To determine which team your child is eligible to play on, use the little league birth date for 2010 (your child's age on April 30, 2010.)
Note: A child must be minimum 8 years of age OR entering third grade this coming September to be eligible)
12 yr old teams — (any child who will be 12 or younger on April 30, 2010)
11 yr old teams — (any child who will be 11 or younger on April 30, 2010)
10 yr old teams - (any child who will be 10 or younger on April 30, 2010)
8/9 yr old teams - (any child who will be 8 or 9 on April 30, 2010)
To try out players must either be 8 by April 30, 2010 OR entering third grade this September.
The following are also requirements (each criteria must be met):
A) Eligible players must live or attend school in Garden City.
B) Players must be willing to play baseball on a year round basis and be committed to travel
C) All players must also play GCAA in the Spring of 2010 to remain on travel rosters in Spring & Summer of 2010
Tryouts require that you call and pre-register. To pre-register contact a coach at your applicable age. Dates, times and coach contacts are listed below for each age. These tryouts are intended for children who are committed to playing and practicing baseball during the Fall, Spring and Summer. The level of play is highly competitive and the commitment to these teams should not be taken lightly.

U11 & U12 Tryouts - Monday Aug 10th (5:15 to 8pm)
There will be several U12 teams this year, contact any of the following: Tryouts are for NEW players ONLY or existing players seeking to move up to another team within their age bracket. Existing/returning players wishing to remain on their same team do not need to re-tryout again but are NOT automatically placed on back on their existing team. Coaches select final rosters after trying out any new players interested in travel baseball and players interested in moving up.

Call the respective managers to find out field location and pre-register. If you are going to be away on vacation during the potential tryout dates there will be a special one time advanced tryout during the week of July 27th. You must contact your respective manager and notify him that you will be away during the August tryouts and receive permission to attend the advanced tryout. Advanced tryouts are ONLY for those that will be away.
GCAA does not officially sponsor U13 teams and above. Many of these teams are well established and no longer hold tryouts. However from time to time roster openings do arise and players interested in possibly playing GARDEN CITY travel baseball ages 13 and above may contact the following coaches for information and/or to see if any open spots are potentially available.
