Washing baby dolls. Since the end of June, the children at Garden City Nursery School's Summer Program have been enjoying a wide variety of activities. Using the theme "Under the Sea," the teachers and counselors have incorporated all sorts of media to engage the children. They've sang songs, recited fingerplays and poems, and listened to stories about fish, whales, sharks and turtles. The children have matched sea animals, counted shells and created sea animals using different materials and textures. In addition, they've had a great deal of outdoor time, enjoying water play, swings, and sand. What a terrific season it's been!
