The following local students have been placed on the Dean's Commendation List for outstanding academic achievement in the Spring 2009 at Gettysburg College.

• Clare Belinda Hartigan of Garden City is a Junior.

• Anthony Pastore of Garden City is a Senior.

Students with a quality point average of 3.33 or higher for a semester's work are placed on the Dean's Commendation List.

College Notes

Allison Beth Prusiewicz , daughter of Mr. Robert and Mrs. Denise Prusiewicz of Garden City, received her Bachelor of Science degree in child development and human and organizational development, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University.

Approximately 2,500 students completed requirements for degrees at Vanderbilt University during the past year. Those degrees were conferred by Chancellor Nicholas Zeppos during the May 8 commencement exercises in Nashville, Tenn.
