Garden City Park FD Hosts Blood Drive

2009-07-24 / Community

Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel will partner with the Garden City Park Fire Department to host a blood drive on Sunday, July 26. The drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Garden City Park Firehouse, 2264 Jericho Turnpike.

Blood banks traditionally experience a drop in donations during the summer months while blood is still needed daily to meet the needs of patients in our area.

"We need your help," Assemblywoman Schimel said. "One pint of blood can save three lives because blood is divided into components and can be used for three patients with different critical needs."

"The Garden City Park Fire Department is in the business of saving lives and giving back to our community. I can't think of any better way to give back then to give blood," said Garden City Park Fire Department Chief Sean Walsh.
