The 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines Association will host its third Annual Golf Outing at Eisenhower Park on Aug. 3 to raise funds for the support of local Marine Reservists and their families. Play will take place on the Red and White Courses with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Check in begins at 10 a.m., followed by a barbeque lunch. Play will be followed by a buffet dinner at the Carltun. Proceeds will help the nonprofit organization provide comfort and support to family members of deployed Marines; care packages for those on the frontlines of the War on Terror; and if need be, funds will be used to assist wounded Marines or provide for the survivors of any killed in the line of duty. The Lakeside Theatre programs are free and begin at 7:30 p.m.; movies begin at dusk. There is no formal seating at Lakeside Theatre, so concert-goers should bring chairs and blankets. Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem:

On July 13, PO Buonaiuto arrested a 43-year-old Hempstead woman and a 38-year-old Roosevelt woman for allegedly shoplifting $115 in clothing at pay/half on Franklin Avenue. The younger female was also charged with the possession of a gravity knife and for the violation of parole... Also that day, someone broke into a car parked on Claydon Road and took a $150 Garmin GPS... A 62-year-old Valley Stream woman was arrested in connection with a May 29 incident where she allegedly had taken items while working in consort with a Lord and Taylor employee. She was charged with 3 counts of petit larceny... On July 12, a handbag containing $25 and credit cards was taken from a car parked at a Kenwood Road residence... On the same day, PO Buonaiuto arrested a 28-year-old Uniondale female for allegedly stealing a BCBG top, a tank top and a pair of Guess jeans at Lord and Taylor...On July 13, a $300 Tom Tom was taken from a GMC parked at Weyford Terrace... Between July 7 and 8, a $150 Tom Tom was taken from an unlocked car parked at Transverse Road... On July 9, PO McCarthy arrested a 56-year-old Far Rockaway woman for allegedly stealing $347 in items at Sears, which included 9 shirts, 6 boxes of perfume, and jewelry... Also, PO Roumeliotis arrested a 29-year-old Westbury woman for the alleged grand larceny of $1400 in items at Lord and Taylor, which included 2 Max dresses, 2 BCBG dresses, shorts, an ella tank top, an 860 skirt, a Calvin Klein dress, a French Connection sweater and pants, a Buffalo shirt and a Love Only shirt... PO Oswald arrested a 25-year-old Brooklyn man for alleged DWI (.14) at Franklin Avenue, on July 12... A 27-year-old GC male was arrested for alleged DWI (.11%) at Seventh Street on July 11 after he was involved in a 2-car-accident there, which involved another driver who claimed she had chest pain although she refused to go to the hospital... Between July 9 and 10, two light fixtures were found broken at a Whitehall Boulevard residence... Over $32,000 in jewelry was stolen when a handbag was taken from a car parked at the Girls Scouts building on Ring Road, on July 7. Only took 10 minutes... On July 11, 12:30 a.m., PO Cristiano arrested a 17-year-old GC male who had climbed into a private area at St. Paul's and could not get out. He was charged with criminal trespass... On July 10, an 18-year-old GC male was released to his parents after he was issued an appearance ticket for the possession of beer... PO Reynolds ( along with PO Conti and PO Grimes) apprehended a 15-year-old GC male after he allegedly took property, namely a book, from a car parked at St. James St. North on July 14... On July 8, a 22-year-old GC male was issued an appearance ticket for a loud party on Roxbury Road, while another GC male was given the same for his loud party on Euston Road...

Fire Responses:

FD assisted in unlocking a kid's bike at Stratford School on July 8... On July 9, FD secured power and removed the agitator from a washing machine at a Harrison Street house, after a small child was stuck... 200 gallons of water was used to extinguish a car fire at 1100 Franklin Avenue, on July 9... An overloaded power strip caused concern at a Pine Street house on July 10... An 85-year-old woman found lying in the driveway at the GC Hotel on July 10 was treated and transported to the hospital for a laceration on her head... FD disconnected a battery of a car after a car accident occurred at Rockaway Avenue on July 10... On July 13, LIPA was notified after wires came down at Adams Street... FD assisted police after a call for gas was reported by a neighbor at Hathaway Drive on July 13. A 96-year-old woman was found incoherent and her son, a 56-year-old man was found dead in the basement, however, his death was unrelated to the low levels of gas, and it is being investigated...That's all this week.
