Happy 60th Birthday

Your 60 th Birthday is being spent in Heaven. We wish we could celebrate with you. Not a day goes by, that we do not miss and love you. Your smile is beautifully etched in our hearts. You are forever loved and never forgotten. We cherish all the memories we shard. It was a privilege to be your wife and daughter.

You were a loving husband, and devoted dad. All our love, Pat, Jaclyn and Kevin

Ann H. Bohlin

Ann H. Bohlin died June 20, 2009 at the Nassau Extended Care Center from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Born in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Therwald E. and Helen S. Holter of Elmhurst, Illinois. A 1961 graduate of Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota, she received her master's degree in English from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in 1962. In the fall of that year she became a teacher of English to the then Garden City Junior High School, where she remained for the duration of her 41 year teaching career. She served as the chairman of the English department of the junior high/middle school for 20 years prior to her retirement in 2004. Ann was predeceased by her sister, Mary, and is survived by her husband, William, of Garden City.

Anita Jensen

Anita Jensen of Garden City died on June 30th.

Ms. Jensen was the beloved daughter of the late Marilyn and Harry; the loving sister-in-law of Jiri; and the cherished aunt of Amanda, Joseph, Katie and Willie.

A funeral Mass was said on July 3rd at St. Joseph's Church in Garden City. Interment followed at St. John's Cemetery in Middle Village, NY. Arrangements were handled by Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home in Floral Park.

Ruth Tisch of Garden City, NY- Born Ruth Hopewell Vix to William Arras Vix and Hopewell (Bingham) Vix on March 19th, 1921 in Newburgh, NY - After 88 wonderful years of life has passed to God's hands through Jesus Christ our savior. Mom loved to play the piano and was very gifted in her music. With her talent she also played the three tier church pipe organ with beauty, grace, and great inspiration. Mom lived in Newburgh and eventually moved to Brooklyn, then Garden City with her Mom and Dad and Graduated Garden City High School in 1940. She enjoyed sailing with her parents in Zach's Bay and Long Island Sound and also loved Horseback riding and Tennis. Mom was very athletic and loved to swim and Ice Skate. Mom attended Adelphi University while majoring in History. Mom was a devout Christian. Mom married Cortlandt Richard Tisch August 14th, 1948. Mom retired from the Long Island Trust Company in 1986. She was very well liked by the many customers who frequented the bank. Mom also worked faithfully on the Grand Jury and sat on many court cases. Mom loved to Crochet, knit, cross stitch, and was a very talented artist and painter. Mom was also an avid animal lover. Our dear Mother always cared for her children and saw to it they all graduated and stayed busy during their youth. Mom is best known for her pleasant smile and strong convictions to faith and principles. Mom was very proud of her Scottish Highland and German heritage. She is survived by her three children, Cortlandt Tisch Jr., Robin (Tisch) Carlisle, and William Tisch, and nine grandchildren, Timothy, Rebecca, and Heidi Tisch, Caren, Cathe, and Cortlandt Tisch, and Melissa, Sara, and Shannon Carlisle. Mom will be buried in Hackensack cemetery next to her Mother, Father and Brother William Donald Vix.
