Fundraiser For Kenyan Children A Huge Success

Fr. Gabriel received a round of applause from all attendees on obtaining his Doctorate Degree in Philosophy
Fr. Gabriel received a round of applause from all attendees on obtaining his Doctorate Degree in Philosophy The Third Annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser hosted by members of the St. John's Kenyan Children's foundation was held on Saturday, May 16th, at Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale. The event drew close to 150 guests who enjoyed the taste of several international wines, and participated in the Chinese and Silent Auctions with great prizes that were generously donated by local businesses for this event.

Fr. Gabriel Muteru, Honorary Chairman, greeted all the guests as they arrived, and offered a very eloquent speech about the foundation's mission and all the latest accomplishment during the last year. Fr. Gabriel also received a congratulatory standing ovation when it was announced that he received his Doctorate degree in Philosophy from the New School in Manhattan. The atmosphere was festive and the spirit of giving was overwhelming. It was a very special evening shared by people of faith with a strong desire to make a change in the lives of many orphan Kenyan children who need education and basic necessities. Congratulations to the lucky winners of the Chinese Auction. They left the event very happy, holding their beautiful baskets. Congratulations also to Barbara Debold, the winner of the 50/50 Raffle.
